NTA facilitated the community monitors in Nairobi County to attend the County Fiscal Strategy paper (CFSP) 2020 ward-based consultative forums in the seventeen (17) sub counties in various venues as provided for by the county government on the 19th February, 2020. Subsequently, these sessions would trickle in to the county level validation forum held at charter hall on the 21st February, 2020. The community members were able to give their proposals, views, opinions and recommendations to the County government.
Additionally, NTA internally analyzed the education health sector working group report for MTEF- 2020/2021 to 2022/23 and came up with the main findings of the sector, for example in terms of budget allocation, it was noted that the vocational and technical training was the least funded subsector with a budget of Kshs. 37.4 billion. On a positive note, it was also found out that the government is putting much effort towards promotion of TVETs in Kenya. This is in line with Kenya’s agenda 4 commitments. The emerging issues, challenges and recommendations were also pointed out by NTA. NTA facilitated 12 trained BOMs to attend and be part of the sector discussions at KICC on 15th January, 2020.
